FAQ - Preparaton & priming
QuestionHow important is preparation?
AnswerThe most critical aspect of a painting job is preparation. Poor surface preparation will always show through in the final coat. It will also reduce the effectiveness of the coating system and can lead to the premature failure and separation of the coating from the substrate. Bearing in mind that preparation accounts for approx 80% of the finished look, some simple rules to remember are: read all label instructions, ensure surface is correctly prepared, stir paint thoroughly, only thin the paint to ease application, apply the product at correct spread rates and ensure climatic conditions are favourable for painting.
