| Preparation |
PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: In Good Condition:: Wash down with Yacht Line Super Cleaner, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 280-320 grade (grit) paper. In Poor Condition:: Remove all previous coatings and prime the substrate. PRIMING: Substrate preparation is covered separately on the primer datasheet. BARE WOOD: Prime with Interprime 820 or UCP. STEEL/ALUMINIUM: Prime with Interprime 820. GRP: Wash down with Yacht Line Super Cleaner, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 180-220 grade paper. - Use Polyurethane Basecoat prior to topcoat application. Sand the Polyurethane Basecoat with a minimum of 400 grade wet or dry paper. Ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned. The use of tack rags and International Wipe Down Solvent (YTA002) can help achieve the required level of cleanliness. During the cleaning process, wash down solvent or water must not be allowed to dry on the surface. Residues must be removed using dry paper wipes. Any sanding residue remaining on the surface can impair the finish. |

| Method |
Mix base and curing agent first and then thin as required. Accelerator may be necessary at temperatures below 30°C. Consult Interspray Accelerator datasheet for recommended addition levels. Stir thoroughly. Allow to stand for 5 minutes to allow entrapped air and gases to escape. For the best finish, the first coat should be applied thickly enough for even coverage and flow, but do not attempt to achieve full opacity. Do not apply a dry tack-coat first. Leave first coat until it is "touch dry". Apply a full coat. When this coat is touch dry, apply a further 1 or 2 full coats (depending on colour) to achieve full coverage. If more paint needs to be applied, wait at least another 24 hrs before proceeding, to avoid solvent entrapment. |

| Hints |
Mixing Stir contents of each part prior to mixing. Mix the base and curing agents of Interspray 900 together at the specified mix ratio. Stir well before use. Thinner Fast YTA910, Standard YTA915, Slow YTA920, Extra Slow YTA925, Retarder YTA930. Thinning The choice of thinners will depend on the ambient temperature, the spray gun set up, application techniques and paint viscosity. As a general guide: 12-18°C - YTA915; 16-23°C - YTA920; 21-28°C - YTA925; >28°C - YTA925/YTA930 blended 80:20%. For fuller guidelines on thinning, consult the Professional Application Manual. Conventional Spray For conventional spray applications reduce viscosity to 14s, DIN 4 cup or equivalent. Pressure: 3-4 bar. Tip Size: 1.0-1.4 mm. Other If using as a deck paint, mix in non-slip additive. Full hardness is achieved after 7-10 days at 15°C/59°F. If required, a Matting Coat (YZM914) is available for use with Interspray 900. See Matting Coat datasheet for details on use. |

| Some Important Points |
Product temperature should be minimum 10°C and maximum 35°C. Ambient temperature should be minimum 10°C and maximum 40°C. Substrate temperature should be minimum 10°C and maximum 40°C. Do not use in high wind. Avoid humid conditions. Do not apply over conventional paints or flexible constructions. Do not use unless mixed thoroughly with the curing agent at specified ratio. Not suitable for permanently immersed surfaces. Avoid applying late in the evening as condensation can cause a loss of gloss during overnight cure. Do not thin with Standard Thinner 920 (YTA921). |
|
|
| Compatibility/Substrates |
Apply only over sanded polurethane finishes, International's Polyurethane Basecoat or Interprime 880. Ensure all sanding residues are removed before application of the Interspray 900 finish. |
