Firstly there is the unique chemistry we have nurtured with the boating community, a special affinity that has for generations inspired our work and thrown down new challenges.
Then there is the chemistry that goes into every single paint and coating that we produce.
This chemistry is not just about science in the laboratory, but also about experiments and research carried out in some of the most challenging of test conditions. One such location is the icy water of the Yealm Estuary, where teams of chemists row out to collect, examine, and log their samples - painted metal panels that are left submerged for many months.
We can safely say that no-one understands the importance of a good coat better than one of our research scientists. | | | Horizontal snow, and six scientists in a rowing boat with their fingers numb from the cold.
Now that’s testing.
