Wood has a beauty that good maintenance will enhance and protect. Interlux has several wood treatments for caring for the wood on your boat. All of the systems will provide a barrier to protect your boat against the elements which attack the surface during the season – sea, sun, rain and wind while enhancing the natural appearance of the wood.
Varnish
Varnishes provide excellent protection for the wood on your boat while allowing the natural beauty of the wood to show through. Varnishes are made up of five specific ingredients: oil, resin, solvent, dryers and additives. The combination of these five determines a varnish’s performance.
Synthetic Finishes
Cetol® Marine with “Next Wave” UV-absorbing technology is a durable translucent protective wood finish for use above the waterline on interior and exterior woods. “Next Wave” technology is the next generation of Cetol Marine from Sikkens with a unique UV-absorbing package, which is specialty resins and advanced UV absorbers that provide greater protection, durability and longevity. Cetol Marine provides a flexible breathable finish along with weather protection for teak and other hard woods. It is an easy to apply low maintenance alternative to wood oils and other wood treatments with an attractive, translucent finish has been specially formulated with one goal in mind to protect wood and keep it looking beautiful throughout the season with the least amount of maintenance possible.
Teak Oil
Interlux Premium Teak Oil uses a traditional Scandinavian blend of oils that is easy to apply, fast drying and provides a warm, golden color for the ultimate protection against the elements.
 Compass - New Hybrid Formulation delivers Classic Tung Oil Varnish with Fast-drying Polyurethane resin
New Compass varnish from Interlux combines the classic and traditional look of a tung oil varnish, with the fast-drying properties & high durability of a polyurethane. This hybrid formulation allows you to reduce your work time and optimize on project and labor efficiencies, without compromising on the traditional look and feel of an old-fashioned tung oil varnish.

This may sound odd, but Schooner Gold is different. It’s not a regular varnish and it’s not like Schooner. Developed to apply and perform like a professional varnish, Schooner Gold has a VERY high viscosity, giving it a very thick appearance in the can. This is deliberate. Schooner Gold has an incredible film build to fill wood grain faster & ultimately provide a cohesive high gloss finish that outlasts most varnishes. |
